TRI-LAKES BARTERING

Barter:  to trade by exchanging goods or services without using money.  Barter usually replaces money as the way of payment and individuals and business’ have been doing it for thousands of years.

No money is needed to get what you need.

Why shouldn’t you?

   Ways you can barter:

·       Barter with companies for a service they provide for something you can do or offer them

·       Barter with another single parent for babysitting.  Both of you could work opposite shifts and neither of you would have to pay a babysitter.

·       Maybe you need a mechanic, carpenter, plumber, or electrician and can barter with them.

·       You want to plant a garden but need your garden tilled and don’t have a tractor.  Maybe someone with a tractor can do it for you and you can barter with them for something they need.

·       Maybe you have furniture or a washer and dryer you want to barter in lieu of someone with a truck or trailer helping you move.

·       Maybe you need transportation and can barter with a neighbor to sit with an ill spouse or parent.

·       Maybe you need a place to live and can barter with someone to do chores for them.  Possibly they have a business and can’t afford to pay someone to do the deliveries, yet they have a place for you to live.

·       If you cut firewood, barter with others for something you need.

Think about what your needs are and what you have to offer in exchange.
